Here’s a 100-word bio of me, submitted to an online job fair at a recent academic conference:
I find everything interesting: I have degrees in mass communication, information science, philosophy and fine arts. I have taught for ten years, across three disciplines, in large and small classes, for introductory and advanced courses that ranged from skills-based to creative to critical. I worked another fifteen years in new media, advertising and newspapers, in a large media chain, small creative studios and my own business. Today, I study the Web, social media, virtual worlds and the cultural effects of media technology. Why teach? Because I get to infect others with the passion to find everything interesting.
